My Swimming Lessons
Splish Splash I was having fun in the pool on Wednesday after morning tea room 6 went and changed their clothes to their togs. The first group went first they’re called the Sharks and the second group was called the Dolphins. We had to wait until they finished, so we played with Mr Nepia and it was so fun because we’re playing cat vs pigeon. We played for 30 minutes. Then the sharks got out of the pool, finally they were finished and we quickly changed into our togs and hopped into the pool.
Mr Burton, the coach, taught us how to do backstroke and swim really fast. Later when we finished we did breathing. We did freestyle and we breathed so I needed to practise doing that so I could swim well. After that we did the stingray and it was really relaxing because all you would do was move your hands to the right and to the left and your legs flipping it was really fun too.
Later on Ms. Kirkpatrick said, “Let’s have a handstand competition and who ever the two people win will get a clip.” She meant the best girl and boy will have a challenge. I was really excited and really happy, when it got to my turn I got really nervous and I couldn’t stay long enough so I gave up. That was a little bit sad but I got really surprised because Maliana won and I was really happy for her and she got a clip. Later on we had to get out of the pool and get changed into our uniform.
I really enjoyed swimming because it is fun and important to learn how to swim. I really hope I get to swim again next year.
