Netbook Reflection

Hi my name is Samira and I am 11 years old I go to Panmure Bridge School and I am in room 6 and I am year 7 student.

The positive things about my netbook is when my teacher sends me an activity to do in my netbook and when I finish it I can just put it in my folder and it’s easier to research my questions than looking in a book, if the answer is not in the book.

The negative things about my netbook is sometimes the internet is really slow and I can't get to my google docs and when I’m doing my work the battery needs charging and the netbook is going to shut down.

The unusual things about my netbook are my presentations because I haven’t done it in books and the writing is different because when we did it in our books we used pencil and pen and in our netbook we use keyboards.

My Mum

Her hair is straight
like a book cover.

Her eyes are brown
and they are brighter
than a star.
Her nose is  long.

Her heart is so sweet
I reach to touch it.
I love my mum best in the
whole wide world.

Day and Night

In the day children go to school to study and the teacher instructs them subjects.

In the night children come back to school to perform in a show.

A girl’s head

In it there is a
future that’s going
to happen and there’s
a test that was in the past.

And there is
a time machine
that will take her
into the future.

And there is
An entirely new room
an entirely new house
and entirely new bed.

There is a pirate
ship that only
she can go aboard.

There are
time tables she needs
to remember.

There is a brain that cannot
be controlled because there
are so many things happening

There is anti-quieter
And it cannot be depressed.

I believe
that only what cannot be held back is a head.

There is much promise in the fact that so many people have heads.

I asked the little boy who cannot see

I asked the little boy who cannot see, ‘And what is colour like?’ ‘Why green,’ said he, ‘Is the soft touch of the grass as I walk through it. Blue is like the smell of the salty sea. Eating a capsicum as crunchy sound that’s red. Pink is like the smell of the roses going through your nose. Purple is the colour of a juicy plum when you’re eating it. Yellow is the colour of a delicious banana peeling off the skin. And white is like the softest tissue on my nose.

Swimming Recount.

                                        My Swimming Lessons

Splish Splash I was having fun in the pool on Wednesday after morning tea room 6 went and changed their clothes to their togs.  The first group went first they’re called the Sharks and the second group was called the Dolphins. We had to wait until they finished, so we played with Mr Nepia and it was so fun because we’re playing cat vs pigeon.  We played for 30 minutes.  Then the sharks got out of the pool, finally they were finished and we quickly changed into our togs and hopped into the pool.

Mr Burton, the coach, taught us how to do backstroke and swim really fast.  Later when we finished we did breathing. We did freestyle and we breathed so I needed to practise doing that so I could swim well.  After that we did the stingray and it was really relaxing because all you would do was move your hands to the right and to the left and your legs flipping it was really fun too.

Later on Ms. Kirkpatrick said, “Let’s have a handstand competition and who ever the two people win will get a clip.”  She meant the best girl and boy will have a challenge.  I was really excited and really happy, when it got to my turn I got really nervous and I couldn’t stay long enough so I gave up. That was a little bit sad but I got really surprised because Maliana won and I was really happy for her and she got a clip.  Later on we had to get out of the pool and get changed into our uniform.

I really enjoyed swimming because it is fun and important to learn how to swim. I really hope I get to swim again next year.

My Reflective Learning  Journal

One thing I learnt this week was learning how to use a life jacket.

I was learning this because I might be going fishing and I need a life jacket so I can be safe.

I know I have learnt this because I know I can do it quickly and correctly.

A question I now have is why do we have to use life jackets instead of something else that floats?

Next week I need to work on my times table because I need to try my best to get them right.

The best activity of the week was swimming
because it is very important to learn to swim and a lot of fun too

I Know Someone Who Can...

I know someone who can
blink really fast without stopping sometimes.
I know someone who can
be so in touch with games like a game freak.
I know someone who can
be really nice to someone by treating them kindly.
I know someone who can
be amazingly beautiful by dressing up.
I know someone who can
be funny like a clown.
I know someone who can
act really seriously.
I know someone who can
do a rolling cartwheel.
I know someone who can
do handstands and fall down.
I know someone who do
awesome catches at T-Ball.
I know someone who can
ride their bike really well.
I know someone who can
do amazing batting at T-Ball.
I know someone who can
do swimming
and that someone is
me.

My Holiday

In the holidays my uncle and I went to the movies at Sylvia Park. We got there and we were going to watch Alvin and the chipmunks, shipwrecked, my uncle works there and his friend told him that the movie started at 3:50 but we got there at 2:50.

While we waited we went and looked around Sylvia Park and we went to the sweet shop and he said do you want to buy a lollipop? I said “ok”, so he did. We went back to Hoyts and we sat there for a bit and then we got our popcorn, drinks and our ice-cream.

Then it was time to watch. The movie started I was playing with my drink and it splashed on me and my Uncle said what’s wrong?’ I said “My drink splashed on me.” He said, “Go and sit, there.”  So I did. The movie was so cool because the main characters were Alvin, Simon and Theodore.  They had girlfriends.

The film was cool because Simon got bitten by a spider and he got so crazy he was called Seymon instead of Simon. Finally the movie finished and then we went home.  I really enjoyed watching the movie  with my Uncle and I had a great time
I hope I go again.
